FOR MEDICARE AGENTS

Callmart for Medicare Advantage agents

Inbound Medicare Advantage calls timed against AEP, OEP, and the Special Enrollment Periods that carry volume year round.

Medicare sales run on a calendar the rest of insurance does not have. The Annual Enrollment Period drives the biggest single wave of inbound interest, but it is not the only window, and a Medicare book that only buys calls in the fall leaves months of the year with nothing running. Callmart's Medicare Advantage campaign is built to be turned on and off around that calendar, not left running flat.

The enrollment calendar in practice

WindowWhenWhat it means for buying calls
Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)October 15 to December 7The highest volume of inbound interest of the year, and typically the highest demand on any call source
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (OEP)January 1 to March 31Existing MA members can switch plans once; smaller volume than AEP but still real
Special Enrollment Periods (SEP)Triggered year round by qualifying life eventsLower and less predictable volume, tied to events like moving, losing coverage, or a plan leaving the area

None of these dates are set by Callmart. They come from CMS. What Callmart gives you is the ability to turn Medicare Advantage buying on ahead of AEP, scale your daily call limit up for the window, and scale back down once it closes, instead of running one flat setting all year.

CMS marketing rules and the call itself

CMS marketing rules for Medicare Advantage and Part D require that marketing calls with a beneficiary be recorded in full, among other requirements around what can and cannot be said on a call. Callmart records inbound calls, and buyers can review and download available recordings, which supports the recording piece of that requirement. It does not make you compliant on its own. What is said on the call, how the plan is presented, and the rest of the CMS marketing rules are still on you and your agency to follow.

This is general information about a real regulatory requirement, not legal or compliance advice. Confirm your specific obligations under CMS marketing rules with your own compliance team, upline, or counsel.

Screening and buffers for a Medicare call

Screened Medicare Advantage calls start at $25 per connected call, and each campaign sets its own buffer, the minimum connected seconds before it bills, with a floor of 10 seconds. Connected time counts from when your destination number answers, not from the first ring, so a call that rings through to voicemail or drops before the buffer is not billed. Screening happens upstream and depends on the campaign and publisher; Callmart does not publish the exact screening script.

Staffing around the calendar, not a flat number

  • Raise your daily call limit heading into AEP if you are staffed for it, and lower it the rest of the year.
  • Turn Medicare Advantage buying off entirely outside your active selling windows if you are not staffed to work SEP volume.
  • Use per-member daily spending allowances if you run a team, so AEP demand does not use up the month's budget in a week.

Certification renews every year, calls do not wait for it

Most carriers require agents to complete their annual certification before they can sell that carrier's Medicare Advantage plans for the upcoming plan year, and that certification typically needs to be done before AEP opens. Callmart does not track or verify your certification status, and does not require it to deliver you a call; it is entirely on you and your carrier relationships to be current before you lean into AEP volume.

A practical sequence many agents follow is to finish carrier certification first, then raise the daily call limit on Medicare Advantage campaigns once they know which carriers they can actually write for that year, rather than turning volume up and figuring out certification status afterward. It is a small ordering decision, but it avoids taking a live call for a plan you cannot yet write.

License and appointment requirements

You need an active state health or Medicare-related license and, typically, plan-specific certification and carrier appointments to sell Medicare Advantage. Those requirements are set by your state and by the carriers you represent, not by Callmart. This page is general information, not legal or compliance advice, and it is not a substitute for checking current requirements with your upline or compliance department each year.

Common questions

01Does Callmart run Medicare Advantage calls year round?

Medicare Advantage campaigns are available on Callmart; volume naturally concentrates around AEP and OEP and drops in between, following the same enrollment calendar that drives the rest of the industry.

02Are Medicare calls recorded?

Yes. Inbound calls are recorded, and buyers can review and download available recordings, which is relevant to the CMS requirement that Medicare marketing calls be recorded.

03Does buying calls on Callmart make me CMS compliant?

No. Callmart records calls and lets you review them, but the content of the call, disclosures, and the rest of CMS marketing rules are your responsibility as the licensed agent.

04What does a Medicare Advantage call cost?

Screened Medicare Advantage calls start at $25 per connected call, with pricing tiers tied to the buffer the campaign uses.

05Can I adjust my daily limit for AEP?

Yes. Daily call limits are set per account or per team member and can be changed at any time to match your staffing for a given window.
