Inbound calls for part-time insurance agents

Selling around another job or a family schedule only works if calls arrive when you can answer them. Here is how that works on Callmart, and where it falls short.

Short answer

Part-time agents can buy inbound Final Expense or Medicare Advantage calls on Callmart and take them only when free: switch receiving on and off, turn campaigns on or off, set optional campaign hours and choose the states each line accepts. There is no subscription or minimum spend, and call volume is not guaranteed.

Who is this for?

This page is for agents who sell Final Expense or Medicare Advantage part time: evenings after another job, a few weekdays, or the hours the kids are at school. It assumes you already hold licenses for the states you want calls from. Buyers are responsible for their own licensing and for their own TCPA, telemarketing and recording consent obligations, and Callmart does not provide licensing.

It is not a job listing. Callmart is a business-to-business marketplace where you pay per inbound call; it does not hire agents. If you want a salaried or contracted telesales seat, an agency is the better fit. If you want to work your own book on your own hours, read on, and if you have never bought calls before, start with buying your first inbound calls.

Why is a part-time schedule hard when you buy calls?

An inbound call only has value if someone answers it live, and that is the core problem for an agent with limited hours. A data lead can wait until evening; a call rings now. On Callmart, delivery follows switches you control. Calls arrive only while receiving is switched on, so you turn it on when you sit down with a headset and off when you leave. Each campaign has its own on and off switch, and optional campaign hours let you set one Eastern-time window per weekday, or the same window every day, so a campaign stops taking calls outside the hours you can work. Each line accepts calls only from the states you choose. Billing follows connected time: a call is charged once, after it ends, only if connected time reached the buffer you picked. A call that is never answered, or that ends before your buffer, is not billed.

How do you take calls only when you are available?

ControlWhat it doesUse it when
Receiving switchCalls are not delivered while it is offYou sit down to work, or step away
Campaign switchesTurns one campaign on or off without touching the restYou only want Final Expense calls tonight
Campaign hoursOne Eastern-time window per weekday, or the same window every dayYour free hours repeat each week
Line pausePauses the Callmart phone on every device you useA short break in the middle of a session
StatesThe line accepts calls only from the states you selectYou are licensed in some states, not all
Buying offStops buying altogetherA busy month at your other job

Campaign hours are optional. Leave them off and calls come any time your lines are on, which suits an agent whose free time changes week to week. Agent availability covers building the habit, and dayparting explains the idea behind time windows.

Where do you answer: browser, iPhone or your own phone?

  • Browser softphone: it runs in the browser on WebRTC, so a headset is enough. It answers calls, mutes, sends touch tones and lets you pick an audio device.
  • iPhone app: Callmart: Pay Per Call is free on the App Store, needs iOS 16.4 or later and uses VoIP push, so a call can wake the app in the background or on a locked phone.
  • Your own number: calls can ring a phone number or a SIP address instead.

There is no Callmart Android app; on Android, open app.callmart.io in the mobile browser. Each Callmart App phone, in the browser or on the iPhone, takes one call at a time. The web workspace, the softphone and the app share one account and one wallet, so a campaign you switch off on your laptop is off on your phone too. See apps and softphone for details.

How do you budget a small wallet?

Fund only what you are prepared to spend, because the wallet is the budget. Buying runs on a prepaid wallet funded by card through Stripe, calls draw against the balance, and delivery pauses when the balance cannot cover a call. There is no subscription or monthly fee, solo accounts get their phone line free, and there is no minimum spend or minimum term.

Retail prices as of November 2, 2026. Bulk buyers can request lower wholesale rates. See pricing for every campaign.
CampaignRetail prices by buffer
Final Expense: Digital$30 for 10 seconds, $40 for 30 seconds, $50 for 60 seconds, $60 for 90 seconds
Medicare Advantage$25 for 20 seconds, $35 for 30 seconds, $55 for 90 seconds

A longer buffer costs more per call because more short calls are excluded from billing. A first deposit of $250 or more earns call credit: $50 on a first deposit of $250, $150 on a first deposit of $500, $300 on a first deposit of $1,000. Smaller first deposits and later deposits earn none, and the credit has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn.

Worked example: say you can work Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 PM Eastern. That is 3 sessions of 3 hours, or 9 hours a week, and 36 hours over 4 weeks. Set campaign hours for those evenings, keep receiving off on other nights, and fund a balance you would be comfortable spending across those 36 hours. Afterward, divide what you spent by the hours you were receiving for a cost per available hour, and by the policies you wrote for your cost per sale.

What should you measure?

  • Hours receiving each week, so cost per hour reflects real availability.
  • Calls answered while you were receiving; see answer rate.
  • Billed calls and spend, from call history, which shows each call's campaign, caller state, duration, charge, status and recording, with CSV export.
  • Policies written and your close rate.
  • Credit requests for billed calls you believe were not valid. Callmart reviews each one, and a credit is not guaranteed.

What are the honest limits?

  • Callmart does not guarantee call volume, exclusivity, call quality or close rates. Delivery depends on eligible publisher supply and your settings, so calls may not arrive in every hour you are available.
  • Calls are not exclusive; similar calls may go to other buyers.
  • Each App phone takes one call at a time.
  • There is no Android app.
  • Nothing here is an income claim. What you earn depends on your licenses, carriers, sales skill and costs.

Common questions

01Can I buy insurance calls part time?

Yes, if you are licensed for the line and the states you sell. On Callmart you switch receiving on when you can answer and off when you cannot, and optional campaign hours limit each campaign to a weekly window. Calls are not delivered while receiving is off.

02Is there a minimum spend?

No. There is no minimum spend and no minimum term, and creating an account is free. You accept the Buyer Agreement when you create your account, and you can end it on 30 days' written notice once no Campaign Order is active.

03Do I need a desk phone?

No. The browser softphone runs on WebRTC, so a computer and a headset are enough, and the free iPhone app can ring a locked phone through VoIP push. You can also send calls to your own phone number. There is no Android app; Android users work in the mobile browser.

04What happens if a call rings while I'm away?

A call that is never answered is not billed, and ringing never counts toward connected time. Still, switch receiving off or pause your line whenever you step away, so calls reach someone who can take them and your own answer rate stays honest.
