EVERQUOTE ALTERNATIVES

EverQuote alternatives for insurance agents

Seven other places to buy prospects, compared on what they sell, which lines they cover and what each one says about price on its own site.

Published by Callmart. Updated .

Short answer

The closest EverQuote alternatives for auto and home agents are SmartFinancial, QuoteWizard, MediaAlpha, HomeTown Quotes, ZipQuote and PX Local. If you sell Final Expense or Medicare Advantage by phone instead, Callmart sells inbound calls for those lines at published retail prices. Choose by the line you write first, then by lead, call or transfer.

What are the main EverQuote alternatives?

EverQuote Pro sells shared and exclusive auto and home leads, inbound calls and warm transfers from a prepaid account, with prices quoted by a sales representative. The alternatives worth comparing fall into three groups. For auto and home agents who want the same mix of leads and phone contacts, SmartFinancial and QuoteWizard are the nearest matches: both sell real-time data and live transfers across six lines. For agents who want a self-serve start, MediaAlpha runs a bid-or-buy lead exchange with a $250 minimum deposit, and PX Local sells self-serve auto leads on a daily budget. For agents who mainly want personal lines leads, HomeTown Quotes covers auto, home, renters, life and health, while ZipQuote sticks to auto and home and adds exclusive transfers. If your book is Final Expense or Medicare Advantage rather than auto, Callmart is a different kind of option: it sells inbound phone calls for those lines at published retail prices, billed only when a call reaches the connected time you chose.

Among the six property and casualty vendors, only PX Local puts a lead price figure on its site: a $25 average lead price. Its insurance page also carries a general cost-per-lead guide to the wider market, which is not a PX Local price list. The rest quote by product, filter, volume or risk class, so most comparisons still end with a sales conversation.

Why do agents look for EverQuote alternatives?

Most reasons come straight from how EverQuote describes its own agent program. None of them makes it a poor vendor; they make it a specific one.

  • Price comes from a conversation. Its FAQ says prices vary by product type (auto, home, life and warm transfer) and sends agents to its sales team, so you cannot compare cost before you talk to someone.
  • Shared leads go to up to three agents. Exclusive leads cost extra, and an account must also accept shared leads to get them.
  • Returns have a ceiling. Leads can be returned up to 30 days after purchase, but returns are capped at 20% of the leads bought in a month.
  • The products page lists auto and home. Life appears in the pricing FAQ, and the agent pages checked on November 2, 2026 do not mention Final Expense or Medicare.
  • Activation runs through an inside sales representative rather than a self-serve sign-up with a posted rate card.

If one of these is your sticking point, the table and profiles below show which alternative changes it. If none is, EverQuote may still be the simplest fit, and the Callmart vs EverQuote page covers the Final Expense and Medicare side in more depth.

What does each EverQuote alternative offer?

SmartFinancial

SmartFinancial is the closest like-for-like swap if exclusivity is what you want. Its live transfers are verified by a call center and sent to one agent only, ringing your office line or cell phone, and it also sells real-time prospect data. Its agent pages list six lines, including commercial and group health, which EverQuote's agent pages do not cover.

  • Pricing as published: none. You request volume and pricing, and SmartFinancial states there are no required minimums or contracts.
  • Controls: geography, filters, quantity, daily limits and concurrency caps, with a dashboard for cost per quote and cost per bind.
  • Tradeoff: its published return policy covers leads only, returns can only be requested between the seventh and tenth day after delivery, and approved returns go back to your balance rather than as cash.

QuoteWizard

QuoteWizard, owned by LendingTree, is the broadest option here if you want property and casualty plus health in one account. Its agent site covers auto, home, renters, life, health and Medicare, sells each real-time lead to four agents at most (fewer than two on average, by its own figures) and offers live transfers through WizardCalls.

  • Pricing as published: none. Any filters you add raise the lead price, and a sales representative supplies the exact number.
  • Billing: pay as you go. Your card is charged an amount you choose at sign-up and charged again when the balance drops below the cost of one lead.
  • Tradeoff: WizardCalls transfers are described for home and auto only, and its leads page gives no detail on a Medicare product.

MediaAlpha

MediaAlpha's agent program is a self-serve exchange for auto, home and life leads. You can set your own price for automatic lead delivery under its right-price bidding model, or browse and buy leads at a fixed price. Shared leads go to no more than four buyers unless a lead is identified as exclusive. It notifies you by email or text when you win a lead, or posts it to your lead management system.

  • Pricing as published: no lead prices, but a $250 minimum deposit by card, with neither a minimum spend nor a minimum contract term.
  • Returns: requests made within 72 hours are approved instantly, requests are accepted up to 7 days, and returns top out at 20% of a month's leads.
  • Tradeoff: leads only. MediaAlpha lists no calls or transfers for agents, and it does not promise a set number of leads per day.

HomeTown Quotes

HomeTown Quotes is built around captive agents in carrier programs, naming Allstate, Nationwide, State Farm, Farmers and COUNTRY Financial, and it also sells to independents. It offers real-time auto, home, renters, life and health leads, sold four or fewer times, with exclusive options and integrations such as AgencyZoom, EZLynx, HawkSoft and PhoneBurner.

  • Pricing as published: custom by product type and risk class. Filters are free, all new agents qualify for a deposit match, and some carrier agents can get up to $250 in bonus bucks.
  • Billing: a prepaid deposit drawn down as leads arrive, with an automatic re-bill when the balance reaches $50.
  • Tradeoff: no live transfers or calls on the pages reviewed, so it replaces only the lead side of EverQuote.

ZipQuote

ZipQuote stays in auto and home, and says it has been an insurance lead vendor since 2008. It sells internally generated, non-incentivized internet leads, plus live transfers that a concierge team verifies in a live conversation before passing the consumer to your phone. It describes those transfers as 100% exclusive, and you can control lead timing, frequency and caps.

  • Pricing as published: none; pricing depends on your volume and requirements. Its FAQ mentions $50 for new sign-ups.
  • Returns: requested within 7 calendar days of delivery and processed weekly as credits, for reasons such as invalid phone numbers or 30-day duplicates.
  • Tradeoff: its internet lead page does not say whether leads are shared or exclusive, and no other lines are offered.

PX Local

PX Local is the self-serve agent product of PX, a lead and call exchange. You set a territory, daily budget, delivery schedule and lead types, and real-time leads land in a dashboard that shows each lead's source, consent timestamp, lead age and price before you buy. You then call the lead yourself.

  • Pricing as published: no per-lead price list. Its site states a $25 average lead price, and its insurance page includes a general cost-per-lead guide to the market. There is no setup fee, and you need a $500 minimum balance that is refundable if unused.
  • Returns: bad leads can be returned with one click from the lead overview, with credit applied right away.
  • Tradeoff: auto is the only live insurance vertical; home, life and health are listed as coming.

Callmart

Callmart only fits if your book includes Final Expense or Medicare Advantage, the lines on its public price list. It sells inbound calls, not lead records: a consumer starts the call, and it rings your phone number, SIP address, browser softphone or iPhone app. Each price is tied to a connected-time buffer, and a call is billed once, after it ends, only if it reaches that buffer.

  • Pricing as published: retail prices of $25 for 20 seconds, $35 for 30 seconds, $55 for 90 seconds for Medicare Advantage and $30 for 10 seconds, $40 for 30 seconds, $50 for 60 seconds, $60 for 90 seconds for Final Expense digital calls, as of November 2, 2026. Agencies and bulk buyers can request lower wholesale rates.
  • Billing: a prepaid wallet funded by card through Stripe, with no subscription, no minimum spend and no minimum term.
  • Tradeoff: nothing for auto or home on its price list, calls are not exclusive, and no call volume is promised.

Who should stay with EverQuote, and who should choose an alternative?

Stay with EverQuote if you write mostly auto and home, you like having shared leads, exclusive leads, inbound calls and warm transfers in one prepaid account, and its 120 second window to reject a warm transfer at no cost suits your desk. Its Lead Connection service, where its own team contacts and follows up with your leads, is also something the other vendors here do not describe on their agent pages.

  • Choose SmartFinancial or ZipQuote if exclusive live transfers matter more than lead volume.
  • Choose QuoteWizard if you need renters, health or Medicare next to auto and home.
  • Choose MediaAlpha or PX Local if you want to start small and run everything yourself.
  • Choose HomeTown Quotes if you are a captive agent buying through a carrier lead program.
  • Choose Callmart if you sell Final Expense or Medicare Advantage by phone and want to see a price before you create an account. See the best insurance live transfer companies if transfers are your main buy.

How do you choose an EverQuote alternative?

  1. 01Name your linesAuto and home keep you among the property and casualty vendors. Final Expense and Medicare point to specialist call and lead vendors, compared in the best Medicare lead companies.
  2. 02Decide lead, transfer or callA lead is a record you still have to reach, a transfer is screened before it reaches you, and an inbound call is a consumer who dialed. The lead types guide explains each.
  3. 03Get real numbersAsk each vendor for its price by product, the number of agents per shared lead and its return terms in writing. The vendor vetting checklist lists the questions.
  4. 04Test before you move budgetEverQuote, MediaAlpha and Callmart all state there is no minimum spend, so a side-by-side test can stay small, though MediaAlpha asks for a $250 minimum deposit up front.
  5. 05Judge by cost per policyCompare sources on what each sale costs, not on price per lead. The cost per acquisition calculator does the math.

Common questions

01Who are EverQuote's main competitors for agent leads?

Among companies that sell directly to agents, the closest are SmartFinancial, QuoteWizard, MediaAlpha, HomeTown Quotes, ZipQuote and PX Local, which all sell auto leads and in several cases calls or transfers. Each publishes its agent terms on its own site, so compare exclusivity, returns and billing line by line before switching.

02Is there an EverQuote alternative with published prices?

Partly. PX Local states a $25 average lead price on its site, though not a price list, and Callmart publishes retail per-call prices for Final Expense and Medicare Advantage, starting at $25 as of November 2, 2026. SmartFinancial, QuoteWizard, MediaAlpha, HomeTown Quotes and ZipQuote set prices by quote, bid or risk class.

03Does EverQuote sell Final Expense or Medicare leads?

Not on the agent pages checked on November 2, 2026. Its products page lists auto and home leads and calls, and life shows up only in its pricing FAQ. Agents focused on Final Expense usually compare vendors built for that line, covered in the best Final Expense lead companies.

04Can I buy from EverQuote and an alternative at the same time?

Yes. EverQuote states there is no minimum period or spend, and SmartFinancial, MediaAlpha and PX Local also state no minimum term or contract. Run two sources side by side, tag each in your CRM, and compare cost per sale once each has delivered enough volume to judge fairly.
